  1. I don't see how you consider $16000 middle class. If they pay 35% in Fed taxes I guess they should get a 35% charity deduction. I'm sure anyone of them would trade that 35% tax rate for 15% and lose the charity deduction. To me a none issue except by those promoting class warfare.

  2. Have to agree with "Tiredofthecrap" here. Don't know what the point of this story was.

  3. WOW, Liberal math! Lets say a guy makes $ 1 million, and we tax everything above 350K at a 35% rate. He pays $227K in Federal TAXES in just the amount over 350K! But that is not enough, he is not paying his FAIR share! So if he gives 100K to a charity he is getting a bigger break then the 15% guy who gave $100 to a charity. So lets makes sure he does not give to charity. Its this kind of class envy math that the left loves to exploit. Now if you’re a Kennedy and you got your millions from Bootleg Booze, and use the laws to hide the money, its fine. Same type of crap they use when a mandatory budget item gets less of an increase then expected. Welfare is scheduled to go up by 15% but a proposal to increase only 12% gets on the table, the left scream there is a 3% reduction in Welfare spend and the old people are going to starve.

You have to stop the class envy. If you want more, get off your ass and go EARN it. Millions do everyday.

  4. Pook, I'm curious. The top 25% of the wage earners pay something like 84% of all federal taxes. The bottom 50% pay nothing. Why is that OK? Give me a reason (without using the thought provoking, because they can! explination)

Do they use the roads more? Defense more? What is the reason they should pay not only a higher percentage, but foot most of the federal bill? Just because they have money is not a good answer. Enlighten me oh left leaning one!

  6. It was just a good article. Nothing more.

I pay income taxes and I’m not in the top 25% I thinking I’m in the bottom 50% but don’t know the $$ cut off. I did my taxes and I didn’t get everything back I paid in.

Can someone tell me who the bottom 50% is??

Please provide any source that is not the heritage.org. This is like post a link to Moveon.org. (Not very bias).

  7. The cut off amount for paying no taxes would depend upon how man deductions you have. A person making $30,000 with two children and a house mortgage to deduct might not pay any taxes.

A single person making the same $30,000 who lives in an apartment and no major deduction would pay 15% of about $25,000.

This is more than just class warfare; it’s about governmental controls. Those who give money can decide where it goes and under what conditions it will be used. Obama said that the government would make up the difference to the charities.

Do you really think that Obama’s governmental employees are going to give your tax dollars to the same charities that you would give it to?

Example: Two completing groups want to work with inter-city youth to get them away from gangs and drugs. One is a liberal Christian Church that teaches safe sex practices, hands out birth control and condoms. The other is a Conservative Christian Church that teaches values, the advantages of waiting until marriage and the failure rates on condoms. Both groups have been equally successful. Who do you think will get the money?

    It’s all about control.
