The first openly gay Whitehouse Dog

Bo, Obama's dog.

Maybe I was wrong

I have to admit you guys have opened my eyes to a lot of things. When you take away the rhetoric and feelings and just go by facts there are a lot of disturbing events going on. I want to give the guy a chance but I'm about done. Government takeover of auto, banks and healthcare. Carbon credits, right wing extremists, apologies to everyone, Biden, Pelosi, Reid. The list goes on and on. I soon may be "O had his chance". Keep up the posts.

Taxing your breathing

Carbon Dioxide is emitted each time we or any animal exhales. It is also emitted by the burning of fossil fuels, volcanoes and geysers. It is used by plants during photosynthesis to make sugar. Thus it is a part of the natural carbon cycle.

The EPA concluded Friday that greenhouse gases linked to climate change "endanger public health and welfare," setting the stage for regulating them under federal clean air laws. Limits on carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases would have widespread economic and social impact, from requiring better fuel efficiency for automobiles to limiting emissions from power plants and industrial sources, changing the way the nation produces energy.

So what actually would this cost us?

Cap and trade which imposes limits on the emission of pollutants would be run by a government agency that would set a cap on the amount of a pollutant a business could emit. An emission permit would give the business a set number of credits it could use. If they go over that number they would have to purchase more credits from the government. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the tax revenues from cap and trade could be as much as $300 billion per year by 2020. If business gets hit with a cap and trade tax, where do you think they will get the money? They will have to raise prices which amounts to everyone getting taxed more which the great one said wouldn't happen. And if the government can get $300 billion per year what's to stop them from wanting $500 billion? A new study by Bryan Buckley and Sergey Mityakov of Clemson University found that that the cap-and-trade approach contained in a bill introduced last summer by Sens. Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn., and John Warner, R-Va., would, in effect, hit the average American household with a tax hike of $1,100 in 2009 - a hike that would rise to more than $1,400 in 2015.

If this strategy would actually make a difference we could argue about its merits but according to an analysis by the Environmental Protection Agency a 60 percent reduction in carbon-dioxide emissions by 2050 will reduce global temperature by 0.1 to 0.2 degree Centigrade by 2095.

So are we willing to give up $1400 per year to reduce the global temp. by .2 of a degree by 2095? Don't believe the hype, all this is is a grab for more of your money.

With the new health care proposals and push for small cars we will have fewer people breathing and if we could cap volcanoes and find a way to plug cow farts we wouldn't need cap and trade.

Bush terror memo's released

Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the Obama decision to release secret memo's from the Bush Administration regarding the use of torture you have to ask "Is this really torture?"

One memo, dated August 2002, authorized 10 special interrogation techniques for use against Al Qaeda suspect Abu Zubaydah, including waterboarding. Under this interrogation technique, the suspect is placed on a board or table with his feet above his head, a cloth is draped over the nose and mouth, and water is poured over his face. In the memo, then Assistant Attorney General Jay Bybee also authorized slapping, pushing, confinement in a small, dark space, painful stress positions, and sleep deprivation for up to 11 days. It also approved a request to lock Abu Zubaydah in a confinement box with an insect. It appears Zubaydah has a fear of being stung by an insect.

Whatever happened to good old bamboo shoots under the fingernails or battery cables hooked up to Mr. Johnson? Slapping and pushing is torture? Sounds like most marriages. If this is what gets terrorists to talk I don't think we need to worry about a mass invasion. Show them some reality TV, listen to some rap crap and watch Detroit play football and they would leave screaming.

Tea Party in 3 hours!!

Will report on turn out at Phoenix Tea Party tomorrow.

Pres. looking out for our welfare!

Pres. Obama said today that the tax system is too burdensome and costly. He vows to make paying taxes easier. It seems 2/3 of his administration found paying their taxes too difficult.

"Recession fueling right wing extremists"

A report by the Dept. of Homeland Security says that "right-wing extremists in the United States are gaining new recruits by exploiting fears about the economy and the election of the first black U.S. president". DHS had no specific information about pending violence and said threats had so far been "largely rhetorical." But it warned that home foreclosures, unemployment and other consequences of the economic recession "could create a fertile recruiting environment for right-wing extremists."

So there is no specific threat or violence since the election but this administration will do all it can to discount the fears and disgust the public feels. This is the same administration that now calls acts of terrorism "man made disasters." And they wonder why people might be skeptic about the policies of Obama.

DHS also stated that these reports are normal and there was a left wing extremist report in January. Does anyone remember seeing "Religion fuels left wing extremists"? I didn't think so.

I want to marry my house!

You wonder why people had a problem with gay marriage. You thought we were crazy saying that it will lead to people marrying their dogs, siblings, cousins…well, I don’t know if any of us thought they’d fight for the right to marry objects.

There was a story on Good Morning America today regarding a woman who had a commitment ceremony with the Eiffel tower to show her love for the tower.

Objectum-Sexuality, or objectophilia, is an orientation to love objects. OS people feel a strong attraction towards objects possessing, in particular, certain geometry/function.”

Not surprising to me, but the Eiffel tower lady was from San Fransisco! There’s been another lady, Eija-Riitta Berliner-Mauer, that wed the Berlin wall in 1979. Ms. Berliner says that she fell in love with the structure when she first saw it on television when she was seven.

Here’s the link that will cover the two stories.

Wow, where does it end? How long 'til we have to recognize these marriages? The world has gone insane.

Justice Ginsburg remarks

In a speech in Ohio Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg defended the use of foreign law by American judges and suggested that torture should not be used even when it might yield important information.

With Obama in charge it seems we will get more of the same from future appointees. Will that be good or bad for American freedom?

Is Armaggedon closer than we think?

I'm not a conspiracy nut or doom and gloomer. I'm a skeptic about most everything I'm told and need proof to believe but I've got to say one guy has my attention.

Joel Rosenberg is an author, political advisor and was referred to as a "Modern Nostradamus" by the US News and World Report. His first novels have been fiction and relate to terrorism and Biblical prophecy. Nine months before the Sept 11 attack he wrote about a kamikaze attack on an American city which leads to a war with Saddam Hussein over weapons of mass destruction. His next book starts with the death of Yasser Arafat and a U.S. diplomatic convoy ambushed in Gaza. Six days before his book The Last Days was published, a U.S. diplomatic convoy was ambushed in Gaza. Thirteen months later, Yasser Arafat died. His next book The Ezekiel Option centers on a Russian dictator who forms a military alliance with the leaders of Iran who are pursuing nuclear weapons and threatening to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. On the day it was published in June 2005, Iran elected a new leader who vowed to accelerate the country's nuclear program and later vowed to "wipe Israel off the map." Six months after the book was published, Moscow signed a $1 billion arms deal with Tehran. This is just to give you an idea of the insight this guy has.

His latest book is non-fiction and looks at "How the followers of Jihad, Jefferson and Jesus are battling to dominate the Middle East and transform the World". I've just started the book and the scenarios Rosenberg lays out along with the interviews of political and military leaders is scary stuff. Essentially he says Islam is in a fight to the end and wants to accelerate Armaggedon. Ahmadinejad is being underestimated and Iran's ability to strike not only Israel but also the US is not being taken seriously. He lays out 5 scenarios that he sees playing out and they all have to do with an attack on US soil. Launching nuclear weapons from yachts offshore to flying in planes from Canada loaded with biological or nuclear bombs to activating sleeper cells within our borders or sneaking weapons up from Mexico and exploding them in a major city. A war between Iran and Israel seems unavoidable which will also bring in to play Syria, Hezbollah and al Qaeda. All will launch attacks on Israel at once. Iran will hit Saudi Arabia and those Arab countries which have been civil towards us. Oil will be shut off and the attacks will come from all corners of the world. He says it will happen between the end of 2009-2011. There are approx. 1.3 billion Muslims in the world. If only 1% were radical that would be a huge army.

Just going by his track record and what we are seeing in the Middle East and our inability to call a terrorist what he is, is this scenario that far fetched? If oil is cut off or NY or LA or Chicago has a nuclear bomb detonated in the center of the city what happens to our life? This economy runs on oil. Supply would be limited and the price would spike. Companies would go out of business, food supply would slow etc. In the cities that were hit commerce would come to a stand still. How long can you live without a paycheck, food, water, heat, electricity? No matter how much money is in the bank if there aren't goods to buy what do you do?

Really think about worse case scenarios and how would you make it. Open your eyes to what is going on and don't deny we are in for the fight of our lives. Get your house in order, say your prayers and make peace with God because we never know when our last day will be. I can't believe I'm writing this but something tells me big changes are on the way.
